My story
I learned there is another way.
I grew up training horses in the old way -- all dominance and control, no listening or understanding. When I adopted my first mustang, everything changed. I changed.
That listening took me down unexpected paths. I spent years working with wild mustangs — horses that had never been touched by human hands — and discovered that the process of earning their trust was teaching me as much as I was teaching them. Something about starting from zero, from pure relationship, cracked something open in me.
Eventually, I found equine-guided coaching — a modality that brings horses into the coaching space as active participants, not props. This was the opportunity to marry my career as an educator and facilitator with all that I learned from the mustangs. I recognized the offerings across my work with horses and humans ~ Coming Home Horse Coaching was born!
Coming Home Horse Coaching is the home I have built for the culmination of my career in the classroom and the corrals. It's rooted in the Colorado Rockies, in the land and the horses that have shaped me. And it's open to anyone who's ready to come home to themselves.
Horses have been my greatest teachers. Every session I facilitate is an act of gratitude for what they've shown me.
What I believe
I believe that healing and growth don't always happen in offices or through words. Sometimes they happen in a pasture, in the presence of a 1,200-pound animal who has no agenda except honesty. I believe that the wisdom we need is already inside us — and that horses have a powerful ability to help us find it. And I believe that coming home to yourself is the most important journey you'll ever take.
